Privacy Policy

What RainDance collects when you edit a video with two photos, which providers process your photos, how long files are kept and how to have them deleted.

Last updated: 2026-10-08

RainDance (rain-dance-ai.com) is operated by an individual based in Hong Kong ("we", "us"). This policy explains what we collect when you use the service, why, who processes it and how to have it deleted. Questions go to support@rain-dance-ai.com.

What we collect

  1. Account details — your email address and name, and your profile photo if you sign in with Google.
  2. Photos you upload — the two character photos you submit for a video. They usually show faces, so treat them as personal data of everyone pictured.
  3. Videos we generate for you — the finished MP4 files and the settings you chose (length, resolution).
  4. Payment records — plan, amount, date and payment status. Card details are entered on Stripe's checkout page and never reach our servers.
  5. Support messages — what you send us by email or through support tickets.
  6. Technical data — IP address, browser and device type, and request logs kept by our hosting provider for security and troubleshooting.

How we use it

  • To generate the video you request from your two photos and the reference video.
  • To run your account, credits, subscriptions and payments.
  • To answer support requests, prevent abuse and enforce our Terms of Service.

We do not sell your data, use your photos for advertising, build face-recognition templates from them, or use them to train AI models.

Who processes your data

We use these providers to run the service. Each receives only what it needs:

  • Cloudflare — hosting, database, file storage (R2) and email forwarding.
  • Kie.ai, and the Kling video model it provides — generating your video from your photos and the reference video.
  • Stripe — payments and billing.
  • Google — sign-in, if you choose to sign in with Google, and Google Analytics 4 for website usage statistics such as page visits, referral sources, and basic device and browser information. We do not send your uploaded photos, generated videos, or prompts to Google Analytics.
  • Resend or Cloudflare Email — account emails such as verification and password reset.

If we turn on a live-chat widget, the provider will be listed here before it is enabled. These providers may process data outside Hong Kong, including in the United States.

Cookies and local storage

We use a session cookie to keep you signed in, a PARAGLIDE_LOCALE cookie to remember your language, and a utm_source cookie (30 days) to record which site referred you. Google Analytics uses analytics cookies to measure visits and sessions. Your light or dark theme choice is saved in your browser's local storage. You can control cookies through your browser settings. We do not use advertising cookies.

How long we keep it

  • Photos and generated videos are kept until you ask us to delete them or delete your account. There is no delete button in the app yet; email us and we will delete them within 7 days.
  • Account data is kept while your account is open and deleted within 7 days of a deletion request.
  • Payment records are kept as long as tax and accounting rules require, even after your account is deleted.

Photos of other people

Only upload photos of yourself or of people who have agreed to appear in your video. Do not upload photos of minors or public figures. If your photo was uploaded without your consent, email us with the details and we will remove it.

Your rights

You can ask us to access, correct, export or delete your personal data, or object to how we use it, by emailing support@rain-dance-ai.com from the address on your account. We reply within 30 days. You may also complain to a data protection authority where you live; in Hong Kong this is the Office of the Privacy Commissioner for Personal Data.

Children

RainDance is for adults aged 18 and over. We do not knowingly collect data from children.

Changes

If we change this policy, we will update the date above. For significant changes, we will also notify signed-in users by email.
